YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT ORDERING ON THE INTERNET
If you can't find the answer to your question here please
email our webmaster and she will reply as soon as possible.
We can then add your question to the help page.
Is it safe to use
my credit card on the internet?
|
| Yes, as safe as using it anywhere
else. Your credit card information is relayed from
your browser to our server using a secure connection,
based on standard industry encryption (often shown
by the padlock symbol in the bottom corner of the
browser screen). |
|
| |
I see a 'warning'
window saying 'You have requested a secure
document. Do you want to continue?' (or
similar). What does this mean?
|
| This is to draw attention to
the fact that you are moving into a part of the site
which is 'secure' (look for the padlock in the bottom
corner of the screen). This is where the credit card
transaction takes place. You may receive a similar
message when you leave the 'secure' area and move
onto another part of the website (or a different
website). |
|
| |
What if something
goes wrong?
|
| Get
in touch with us and we will try and sort it
out. If your browser window crashes while you are
entering your details we can check to see whether
the transaction has gone through or not. If you
change your mind about your order, we can cancel
it. |

I have used my credit
card on the internet and now something weird
is going on!
|
If you suspect for any reason
that your credit card is being misused, you should
get in touch with your bank immediately - just
as you would normally in the 'real' world.
Generally, your bank takes responsibility for
credit card fraud (as they do if you lose your
credit card and someone else uses it) although
you may be liable for some of it, eg the first £50.
Check the small print to find out. If your suspicions
relate to credit card use on our website, please
let us know straight away so we can look into it. |
